Synopsis
In the not-too-distant future, an overcrowded prison system forces the middle class to participate in the penitentiary process. As a result, a black prisoner serves out his term in a cell in the living room of a young white couple. In Daniel Rubin's The Viewing Room, developed through Steppenwolf Theatre Company's New Plays Lab, the characters are challenged to confront their perceptions and fears about race — producing a searing dialogue on one of the most volatile issues of our day.Content Advisory
